God's Grace Is Available To Those Who Believe In Him
![]() |
But what is grace? Grace is God's empowerment for us to do things according to His will. That includes His grace for us to do the ministry where He called us to be; to fulfill His command to us to love our enemies; to lend a helping hand to those who need help; to repent and flee from temptations.
It is true that what Jesus did on the cross is bigger than all of our sins combined. His most precious blood washed away all our past, present, and future sins - His work is finished. His work is perfect. We are cleansed and are sons and daughters of the Highest. Jesus' resurrection put all of us who believe under the New Covenant which is a better Covenant than the Old. We are no longer under the sting of the law but under His grace.
Some believers say that it is okay for us to sin since Jesus' blood covered even our future sins but Romans 6:15 says "Well then, since God's grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not!"
Grace is not a license for the believers to sin!"This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17. This verse tells us that we have a new life with Jesus. Why? Because when He died, we also died with Him. Who we are now are not the old us anymore.
When we were still sinners, we were like worms. Worms crawl on soil and since the soil is dirty, the worm gets dirty as it continues to crawl. No matter what it does, it will remain dirty and on the soil. But when we got born again, we are now like beautiful butterflies. Butterflies, we all know, they fly. They do not crawl like the worms. They go from flower to flower and are free flying around.
Can the butterflies rest on garbage or any other dirty place? Though I have not yet seen a butterfly resting on a pile of garbage, I believe they can. But even though a butterfly rests on a pile of garbage for a while, it will not stay there. It will fly away and go back to its usual routine - visiting from flowers to flowers!
God's grace is like that. Though we may miss the mark at times, His grace empowers us to repent of our sins and go back to Him.
